Finally Got This After 40 Years

My parents were very strict about what kinds of toys I had when I was growing up. Titay showered me with Barbie dolls and I got my first Lego set from my Ninang when I was 4 years old. I also got a Cabbage Patch which was the rage back then. Mommy though did not allow me to have ET, Yoda and Alf. Someone gave me an ET figure and it was one of my favorite toys. Mom always cringed whenever she saw it. 

I was never allowed to have gaming devices. We did not have a Family Computer or Atari. I was also in college when I got to try my friend's Family Computer. And I was already working when I learned how to play Pokemon on my PC. I think I managed to wear down my Dad because I remember I had a Game & Watch Mickey Mouse device and a PacMan watch. Those were the only devices I owned. 

What I really wanted to play was Super Mario. Sweetie finally made my dream come true. On my birthday he presented me a huge box. He put me to work unboxing one box after another until I finally got to his gift. It was a Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch. Waaaaaawwwww! It was a super huge surprise for me! 

Of course I immediately started playing the game. I also put it beside me when I went to sleep (just like a kid would haha). I've been using it the past few days and I realized I don't have enough gaming skills! I so far couldn't get past level 1-3! Hahaha. 

Thank you Sweetie for the surprise! I think I'm going to spend more hours on this than my Switch. LOL. Love you <3

Life's a Stitch

Today's #ootd is brought to you by Cathy and Mike! They said they thought the shirt was made for me! Woot! I waited for the best day to finally wear it. And today's the day because I finally gave in and committed to my sewing machine. 

Huhhh?

I hesitated to get myself a sewing machine because I was happy hand sewing all my projects. A few months ago I injured my hand by sewing too much. Yes, you can injure your hand if you sew too much. I had to rest my hand for almost two months before it got better. I was forced to use my sewing machine more. 

It was Sweetie who bought the sewing machine for me. I didn't want to get one because I was not sure if I was going to use it all the time. The good news is I use it much more than my Switch (LOL). I was having a hard time using it because I would just put it on whatever table was available at home. I would use it only for short periods of time because of the awkward height of the table. It caused some pain in my arms, back and neck. 

So last week I finally got a proper sewing table when Spotlight offered it at a huge discount. Woohoo! Sweetie set it up for me last night. We put it beside the balcony door where there's a lot of light. Started sewing after lunch today and I lost track of time (hehe). I realized I should've gotten it sooner! Here's the unboxing video -

And that's why I thought today is the best day to wear the shirt Cathy and Mike got for me. Life's a stitch! (Thanks again Mike and Cathy!)

Day 30 Gratitude Challenge, Something you're passionate about. Sewing and crafts. I'm really grateful my Mom taught me how to love sewing and doing crafts at a young age. My hands are always busy and it's something I could do anywhere I go. It's been my therapy the past few months. I also use it as motivation to get stronger because finishing quilt projects require energy too :D

Day 2 Minimalism Challenge, Clean your handbag. I actually clean my handbag every week. I do it often because I like changing my handbag every other week. What I did extra for today is fix my wallet too. Not much change since I rarely go out, the only things I usually clear out are receipts and used tissue paper hehe.

Unboxing My Birthday Gift for Myself

I think you would agree that it is thrilling to receive packages. Do you also add so much stuff on your Lazada/Shopee/Amazon cart? And randomly check out stuff on online shops when you're bored? Then order random stuff just so you can hear the doorbell ring for a package delivery.

My cart has stuff on it for my Mom now since I don't really need anything and I got myself something I've been wanting for a long time. I first saw it probably ten years ago. It was the most beautiful thing. I couldn't justify buying it because it's expensive. My tiny kitchen also discourages me from buying anything to add to it.

Last month I finally decided to get the item. I got lucky because the week I decided to get it there was a sale on it's flagship store in Lazada. I reached out to a friend in Japan who bought it early this year and she said it's worth the investment. I showed her the promo price and she said it was a steal. I didn't hesitate anymore and finally got it for myself.

When it comes to gadgets/kitchen appliances I take so long to buy stuff. I'm like that because I just want to make sure that I'm really going to use it. Sweetie was the one who finally got me my sewing machine. I think he got annoyed already that I kept checking it out at the store haha. Would you believe I'm using Miggy's super old Toshiba Chromebook to blog and edit my vlogs? The last time I bought a laptop for myself was seven years ago. I just wait for hand-me-downs from either Miggy or Sweetie since my computing needs is limited to browser usage and transferring photos from my camera.

My gift to myself arrived a few weeks before my birthday. I've been using it the last few weeks already and I'm so giddy I now have it. I'm sure I will have many adventures with it. Here's me unboxing it!
