The Night My Guardian Angel Saved Me

I got home a bit late after my grad school graduation. It was one of the rare times I drove and as Miggy and I entered our village it started to rain hard. It was dark and I couldn't see our garage entrance properly. I was afraid I might make a mistake at parking, so I parked across the street. I planned to move the car in the morning. 

Miggy and I hurriedly went inside the house. Even with an umbrella we were both drenched. We showered and went to bed since we were tired from the festivities. The next morning I was woken up to move the car. I grudgingly got up, changed and got the car keys.

The skies were clear that morning and I walked quickly to the car to finish the chore. As I got nearer I saw something brown pinned by the wheel. I thought it was just debris from the thunderstorm. I was shocked when I got nearer and saw that it was a snake with a brown and white pattern. It was big as a male adult's arm. It was pinned by the wheel and it wasn't able to free itself.

I had no idea because it was very dark and you can barely see when we stepped out of the car because of the heavy rain. If it wasn't caught under the wheel I would probably have stepped on it. I never found out what kind of snake it was and I'm glad the only encounters I've had of snakes are at zoos or photos. My guardian angel saved me that night and I just prayed that I did not encounter it up close.

I always pray for my family's safety and protection every night. There's danger all around and the best we  can do is have faith that we are always protected. Whenever I feel scared I say a quick prayer for protection and I know my guardian angel is always around.

Guardian Angels

I was chatting with a friend the other day and she told me she was saved from getting into an accident. She got up late and was supposed to go somewhere to buy something. Few hours later she heard from the news that there was a huge accident in there area where she was supposed to be. She also missed getting stranded due to floods the day before.

I told her, "You're guardian angel has been very busy!" I reminded her also that she has multiple guardian angels who watch over us. I don't know how many, but just know there's more than one. I think it was from a sermon where I learned about this. I always ask my guardian angels to watch over my loved ones. Mom taught me how to pray "Angel of God" and ask Jesus to bless my loved ones. I pray the same prayer plus, plus until today. 

After my chat with my friend, I pinged another friend for advise. He gave me very sound, expert advise and I told him, "Thank you for being my guardian angel today." The issue I asked advise on could potentially expose private information, so he explained to me that we should turn down the request. Whew! Good thing I really read what my friends post about because it helps me understand who I could reach out to whenever I need help. Anyone can be your guardian angel too.

The other night I also had a hard time sleeping. I ended up browsing through some groups I am part of and read about an agency Sweetie was considering to hire from. When I woke up he mentioned to me sent an inquiry and then mentioned the name of the agency. I immediately looked for the post I read in the wee hours of the morning and bam! the agency he was considering had bad reviews (looks like they were deleting negative posts on their reviews!). Sweetie immediately terminated his inquiry. My guardian angel was probably breathing down my neck to sleep, but lead me to that post, haha. 

Well, one thing I don't ask my guardian angel to do for me is to help find something I lost or something I cannot find. That's a special prayer to St. Anthony. It always works :)

Hello Guardian Angel

We finally ventured out today to hear mass. We had to walk slow since my breathing hasn't been good the past week. I'm thankful though I haven't gotten sick and pray that those nearer the Taal Volcano are coping.

The priest asked us a question during his homily, "Will your guardian angel be proud or ashamed to report to Jesus that you've allowed him/her to take care of you?" I thought his question was going to be about being naughty or nice haha. I've always allowed my guardian angel to take care of me. "H" probably has been having a hard time with me because I sometimes ask him to go watch over Sweetie or Miggy when I'm worried. Double duty!

It was my Mom who told me I had a guardian angel. In fact "Angel of God" was the first prayer I learned and I still say it every night before I sleep. My Mom used to stay beside me until I fell asleep and we'd pray together before I went to sleep. It's one of my most cherished memories and that's probably why I rely on my guardian angel until today.

Now I have a full battalion of angels watching over me from heaven - Daddy, my titos and titas, and friends. Here on earth I also have a lot of angels watching over me. One special one recently sent me a N95 mask when she found out I didn't have any. Miggy has been my angel also since he was born and he's been making sure I'm okay (and well fed) everyday. I am grateful everyday for the love they give.
