Video Ads in Taxi Cabs

I got on a taxi today with Jomar after my stint at the E-Services Philippines trade show at the EDSA Shangri-la Hotel (it's until tomorrow, so come and visit me at the booth!) and I was really surprised to see a monitor installed in-between the driver's and passenger's seat!

Ever the curious person, I then asked the manong driver if they were now accepting placements for video ads in the taxi. He said they were now accepting ads, but he didn't have an idea how much it was. It was a nice ride home with Josh Groban's new music video (too bad Jomar had to get off at Boni, he missed the tips on how to avoid mandurukots!).

Hmmm... that's one thing taxi cabs in Singapore don't have.

Aba, high tech na pala ngayon ang mga taxi. Matagal na akong nagtataxi dito sa Manila at hindi ko pa naencounter yang taxi na yan. Anong mga ads? May mga political ads din ba? :)

  2. Sa Japan, may built-in microphone and videoke system mga ilang taxis doon. Paiikutin mo pa ng block kung di pa tapos yung kanta kahit nandoon ka na sa destination mo. Panalo !

  3. Uyyy! I hope the taxi cab operator does that here! Imagine! A videoke in the cab! That would definitely be fun especially during Christmas.

There's only one company doing video ads in taxi cabs - Basic Taxi(that's what the manong driver said). You can make silip at their line in Shangri-la Mall. I hope there wouldn't be any political ads in them! :)
