Today I Pray For --

Today I pray for healing. The past few weeks have really been challenging and I am grateful to be alive. I did feel some panic when I felt really ill. I felt my body was battling something it's never fought off before. Granted that the pain was familiar, but my body isn't the same as it was before.

It was love that made me fight back. I prayed hard and imagined God's healing light going over me. I pray for more love, patience and strength. I still want to build more happy memories with my boys, my family, my friends.

Christmas is just around the corner. I had grand plans for Christmas. I even bought a new tree, additional decors, a simple parol and wreath. I want to celebrate like how Mom used to when I was growing up. She made sure our home was fully decorated, we always had good food and she made sure we were early for the midnight mass. I wanted to do it that way to remember her since it's our first Christmas without her.

And that's why I pray for healing and for the stamina I worked hard to increase the last few months. If it doesn't, I will focus with what's most important, celebrating Jesus' birthday.

Today, I pray for healing, not just for me, but the whole world.

The Sunflower

I've been following international news the past few days. Russia's invasion of Ukraine is heartbreaking. I saw a video of an old woman giving sunflower seeds to Russian soldiers. She told them they would bloom into sunflowers when they die. I also just saw a photo of a Ukranian ballet dancer now dressed as a soldier.

I also watched the EU Parliament address of the Ukranian President. He said at least 15 children were killed yesterday and their Freedom Square was hit by missiles. He also mentioned that the Russian soldiers did not actually know why they were invading Ukraine.  There is also much disinformation happening in Russia. You can watch the speech here.

Of course from where we are there's nothing we could really do except pray for this to be over. More than 800,000 people have been displaced already, some of them Filipinos. Since I started using my hand as a guide for my prayers, I've been praying more for others than myself. My problems aren't as overwhelming anymore and I've become more grateful for the blessings.

Step by Step by Faith

"Step by step, a little at a time" has been my mantra the past few weeks. Things got better when I shifted my perspective. Instead of pressuring myself to get better immediately, I aim to get better at least 1% everyday. I also go to my doctor when I need to, I don't wait for things to get worse before I go.

And guess what, I finally have some progress. The asthma attacks dwindled away. It only gets triggered now when the air quality goes bad. My body is now used to the meds and my doctor removed one medication. I finally lost some weight. I'm able to do some chores at home. Most importantly, I can walk 3k steps a day again.

I have an important test to do this week. The test is meant to determine what kind of treatment I should do. It will also tell me how I could get better. There's a lot of considerations to make to see how I could really progress. I'm just grateful that my long-time cardiologist really cares about me. He took the initiative to send me to an expert since I'm a complicated case.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!
