Mom's Garden is Amazing

Did some adulting stuff today and took the opportunity to take stock of what is in my Mom's garden. We had the garden cleared so we could walk around. I was afraid that Mom's plants have died.

The garden is still very lush. Mom left a lot of knick-knacks but her true treasure is her garden. My Mom was a "mega-evolved" plantita. If there are stages to being one, she's at the highest level. Anything she touched would grow and thrive. Even without maintenance her garden is still very lush.

Plants usually don't survive when you do construction. I've been trying to work out a plan to save my Mom's plants. Weeds have taken over the grass and only a small patch is alive. There's a lot of potted plants, but some are being choked already by vines. The invasive vines will probably die when work is done on the property.

I think the first step I would take is to identify and make an inventory of Mom's plants. Then I can research and plan how to save them. I think we can probably move those that need full sun and less watering to a side that won't be disturbed. This way I can prioritize to take what needs more maintenance and bring it home. For bigger plants/trees, we can probably propagate them to grow new ones.

You might ask why I'm trying to do this. Why save my Mom's plants? It's going to be a lot of work. Well, it was my Mom's wish to preserve her garden. All of us have fond memories of her in her garden. She poured a lot of love in it and it will be my way of preserving her memory.

Good luck to us 😊

My Bushy Bell Pepper Plant Died

I've really been having a hard time growing veggies here. The bushy bell pepper I grew is now gone. A pest engulfed the leaves and I thought I'd be able to save it.

The stems are still green, ao I'm observing whether it would grow new leaves. In the meantime, I planted a new set of bell pepper seeds. I always have a stash from what I use in the kitchen. I won't stop until I successfully grow and harvest some. I am hopeful because I've been able to grow other plants from seed.

In time I'll get there soon enough.

Sunday Snooze Day

I've been trying to wake up earlier and have been successful all week. I slipped today because my body need to rest more (a.k.a. I conked out again). I think the meds are forcing me to rest more.

Sunday Snooze Day! Our cat, Grogu, agrees.

Fiesta is Not the Same Without Mom

It's the time of the year when we have our parish fiesta. It's been years since we went and it's not the same without my Mom. She knew everyone and where to go, so we always just followed her lead. We didn't go last year since I wasn't ready yet.

It was raining off and on the whole day, but the sun came out in the afternoon. We decided to step out and check out what was going on. Some neighbors shared what they were selling and we were curious. I think it only rained in our area since the park was surprisingly dry.

The new playground was full of children playing. I was happy to see that since it's empty during weekdays. The kids are lucky because during my time we only had a few swings, a slide, monkey bar and a see-saw. Miggy used the same set which was dilapidated by the time he was born (haha). They opened up a new area and installed new playground sets.

I honestly don't remember the last time I was able to visit during our parish fiesta. The field was full of sellers, much more than the last time I was able to go with my Mom. There will probably be more people tomorrow since there will probably be more activities too.

We didn't bump into a lot of people we knew. I used to see a lot of my Mom's friends before. They'll probably be around tomorrow, but since I'm still taking antibiotics I'll probably stay home. We wore masks when we went and didn't stay out too long. We just bought some merienda and said hello to a few friends.

Happy fiesta everyone!

Nebulizing at Home

I'm truly grateful I wasn't warded for the lung infection. It showed up in the x-ray. It's been causing back pain and I was afraid it might be another PE. My pulmo reassured me it's not since my oxygen saturation is normal. It goes down whenever I walk around, but not as bad as when you have a clot.

I was ordered to get a portable nebulizer. My doctor said I probably reached my limit to bad air caused by the construction beside us. The tarp they placed are rotten and throwing trash in our property. It doesn't help keep out the dust anymore. The construction folks don't care even though we complained so many times already to the HOA.

Anyway, nebulizing at home is much better than doing it at the hospital while warded. The equipment at the hospital is really noisy and cumbersome. I'm glad my doctor advised to get a portable device. I'm able to use it anywhere at home minus any cables. It's also very quiet so I can watch TV while using it.

I'm feeling a bit better, but need to make sure I take my antibiotics and do nebulization on time. I feel woozy after getting medicated, so no lakwatsa for the meantime.

Day of Mishaps

The past two days have been a struggle. Yesterday was a day of mishaps. It was stressful and I just want to forget about it.

I've just started taking my meds. Things were delayed because of the mishaps. Luckily, we have our cute fur family to cheer me up.

Here's Anakin being his super cute self today:

He's such a sweet kitten. Bailey though shows his sweetness very subtly. Since Meredith's been staying on her throne, Bailey has taken over her place on the bench. He sits because me to get extra treats, haha.

Spent the Day at the Hospital

Thank you Lord I wasn't warded today. My doctor said I was wheezing during my check-up, so for the first time I was asked to buy my own nebulizer.

I'm waiting for my doctor to review the x-ray results, so I have to chill and rest for now.
