Absent

I was absent yesterday for my pulmo rehab. I woke up dizzy and I know things go bad when I force myself to get up if my sleep cycle is incomplete. My CPAP machine has been extending my deep sleep phase and when I'm woken up suddenly I get very dizzy. My alarm woke me up and I guess my body wasn't ready to wake up yet.

To make up for my absence, I used my spirometer as usual and spent extra time doing some gardening. I re-potted some plants and gave rice water to select plants. I was planning to cook dinner, but my energy ran out. I'll just cook tomorrow and skip any heavy gardening.

Oh well, that's my life nowadays. There are good days and there are bad. I just adjust as needed :)

What Made Our Stress Go Away

We left home earlier than usual for our appointment. We wanted to eat a heavy breakfast because of our back to back appointment. The lifts in the building could take so long, so we wanted to avoid rushing to eat lunch.

We made good time from our home to the hospital. One of those lucky days when traffic wasn't horrid. Our well made plans though was messed up. It took us almost an hour to find parking space. The hospital sequestered customer parking space for their staff and additional space had reserve cones for "those who own it" said the guard.

Good thing Miggy came too, so we were able to split up. Sweetie continued to look for parking, while Miggy and I went to buy some food. But, guess what? Sweetie beat us to the cafe because the elevator that kept going to our floor was under maintenance. Gahhh. Of course, it took awhile to go up to the clinic because not all the lifts were working.

I was so stressed and tired by the time we got to the doctor's office. I was lucky I didn't wait long to be called. Ahh, but the wait for Miggy's turn for his doctor took longer and I basically just conked out on his arm.

When we finished our hospital errands, I requested to eat somewhere else. I just wanted to forget the horrid time we had looking for parking. We headed to One Ayala and dined at Secret Recipe.

We try to visit it once a quarter (we're rarely in the area). We have fond memories of dining at Secret Recipe in Singapore/Malaysia and Indonesia, so it's a family favorite. The boys are following no meat Fridays and got seafood. I got carbonara.

We each tried interesting beverages. Sweetie got kiwi lime tea. I forgot what was mine called but it was berries with black tea and mint. Miggy got a shake.

We just got some cake for takeaway since we didn't want to get stuck in traffic going home. Traffic was heavy but moving past Magallanes Interchange. SLEX was moving so slow, so we used the Skyway. We were home right in time for my plant watering schedule.

Take care of yourself, your pets and plants! The heat has been really bad. I just hope the hospital realizes they have a really bad parking problem. We heard a lot of people complaining the whole day. I took the initiative to send them a complaint through their website. Oh well.

Worn Out

I just realized I overdid things this week. I tend to do that when I have bursts of energy. I did some heavy gardening for two days. Went to the mall and sorted Mom's stuff for another two days. In between that I re-organized my closet.

I thought I could continue sorting stuff today. No wonder Sweetie just laughed when I told him I'll finished the boxes he got this weekend. I'm exhausted and should have rested after pulmo rehab yesterday. My therapist also realized I'm probably suffering the ill effects of long COVID-19 since I could go straight for a few weeks with pulmo rehab and then be absent for another few weeks.

It's just that I feel antsy whenever I have a surge of energy. I need to do things, but I need to also figure out the right time to stop. It would be better I know when so I don't get too exhausted.

Anyway, it's the weekend, so I'll rest and resume on Monday.

Happy weekend everyone!

Unstable

Happy Sunday everyone. I experienced aFib last night so I've just been resting today. I did step out for awhile to get some sunshine and saw the Kalachuchi (desert rose) blooming more flowers. They do last longer than gumamela (hibiscus), so that makes me happy.

Hope you all had a restful weekend.

Clot Scare

It's been an unproductive week for me. We went out last Monday to check-out something. The vaccination site though on my left arm was still painful and felt warm. It was strange since it's been a week since I was vaccinated. I had two vaccinations in the past two weeks. First one was for flu and the second one was anti tetanus and diphtheria (to also prevent pertussis which is hard to treat according to my doctor). My infectious disease doctor advised to get vaccinated since I've been hospitalized twice in the past 8 months. I'm still due to get the pneumonia and shingles vaxx.

Anyway, I felt really bad on Tuesday. I slept most of the day since my whole body hurts. I also felt very lightheaded on Wednesday. I started having a terrible headache by Wednesday evening. I took the medication my neurologist gave me for migraine. It worked, but I still had a nagging headache until today. I also had upper back pain on and off since yesterday.

The upper back pain concerned me a lot since it's the same area that hurt when I had my last PE* in 2021. The pain was still there when I woke up. Sweetie cancelled by pulmo rehab appointment since I didn't feel well. I kept telling myself not to worry too much since it may just be pain from the scars in my lungs. My oxygen saturation is also normal. I still took it slow today and used my collection of pain ointments/oils. I read up about Boostrix and what I went through are its side effects. It was probably weirder for me because I'm immuno-compromised.

I watched a movie on Netflix with Miggy and I felt a bit better by early evening. I also watered the plants and played with the cats. The kitties surrounded me and they helped to relax me. I feel better now and will report what happened to my doctor since I'm still due to get two more vaccinations. Maybe we need to space it out since my body takes longer to recover.

Unwell

The past two days have been a struggle once again. I was dizzy all day yesterday. Today, my whole body hurt so I just slept most of the day with the stack of new books beside me.

I guess being asleep was better than encountering all the rage about the last real life family drama. All families have problems. It's best resolved privately.
