Breaking Routine to Attain a New Reality

I'm breaking the routine I have settled on this past week. I wake up, eat breakfast, drink my meds, check on the bell peppers, blog, prepare for lunch, water the plants then I settle in front of the sewing machine. I haven't been able to do anything else and realize I need to break the routine. I got so absorbed trying to finish the curtains I ended up setting aside all the other things I need to do.

Settling in a routine is dangerous. If you stick to one too much it can stunt your growth. In my case, it left my other tasks in disarray. It's physically manifested with the mess I have behind my dining room chair, haha. I realized this last night and told myself I will break my routine today.

Why is settling on a routine not good? Dr. Joe Dispenza who wrote "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" explained the science behind getting stuck in routines. He said that if you keep doing or acting the same way it puts your body in a stale state also. He proved this when he had an accident that left him paralyzed. He used his mind to heal his back. I'm probably not doing a good job explaining it, best to watch this video of Dr. Joe Dispenza -

"Your personality creates your personal reality" according to Dr. Joe Dispenza. So if you want to reach a goal or be something else then you have to create that future in your mind. Aside from working hard to reach a goal, you have to act like you have already reached that goal.

Looking back when I was 17 and just had Miggy, Ate's HS classmate who went through the same thing told me that things would be so different in 10 years. Something clicked in my mind then and I imagined what we would be in 10 years. I created a future in my mind where I was in a stable job and Miggy was in school. I focused on that reality and what I painted in my mind did happen.

And that's what I did last year when I was very, very sick. I knew part of the healing process required me to break my habits. It forced me to create a different reality. I wanted and needed to have my family physically together and I always dreamed of having a permanent home. It required a huge change for all of us, but because I kept working on creating that future in mind things just fell into place.

So now that I have attained some of my goals, I have to work on my other goals. I have a picture in my mind where I'm able to bike around our village. I'm still hopeful and have faith that I could fully heal.

I Need to Break the Habit of Being Myself

I discovered the idea of "breaking the habit of being yourself" from a friend who is a doctor. She pinged me the link three years ago when I was having issues with my breathing. She sent me some videos to learn more about it from Dr. Joe Dispenza. Dr. Joe Dispenza wrote the book "Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind to Create a New One".

It's a crazy thought noh? From watching the videos Dr. Joe Dispenza espouses the idea that you can create the reality you choose. It's like telling the universe what you want and eventually things fall into place. Well it's not as easy as that because there's a lot of mind-work and meditation you need to do. Dr. Joe stumbled on this when he got into a biking accident and got paralyzed. He used his mind to heal himself.

Dr. Joe Dispenza offers advanced courses on how to become progressive. My Kuya signed up for it and gave me one of access passes. I studied it at night when I had trips and learned how to pray and generate the energy needed to heal yourself. It's what helped me through my first PE.

So why am I broken again? The other part of the course requires you to break the habit of being yourself. There are stressors in your life that may be causing you issues. You need to tackle this head on and purposely accept the habits you need to break. It's a long process that could change your life and heal you. Dr. Joe Dispenza also anchors all of this on prayer. In fact the course videos I watched were filmed when he ran the sessions in a church.

Since I eventually got well, I slowly went back to the bad habits. God probably said I'm the most stubborn child ever and removed all my "power". I couldn't do anything that I normally could do, not even basic chores at home. It was only two weeks ago when I realized I had to find other ways to cope. I assessed my situation from a different perspective and finally saw the lessons I'm supposed to learn.

I finally reached out to my Kuya for further guidance. I told him what I think God is telling me to do now. He advised I should do the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius de Loyola. This will help me determine if it's truly what God wants for me.

Pray with me friend. <3

Breaking the Habit of Being Online

My doctor ordered me to stay offline since December. He believed I was under a lot of stress that's why my body was going bonkers. Oh boy it was hard since I'm always online, but it was a good time to clear my cache.

Breaking the habit of being online is one of the hardest things my doctor asked me to do. He said it was for my own good so my body could normalize and heal properly. I'm so used to picking up my phone before I even get out of bed.

To break the habit I had to impose a restriction on myself. After identifying the most common apps I use I set access limits to it. I also identified the places and times I would go online and replace it with offline things like reading a book.

The hardest was the first two weeks. Going online was just as natural as drinking water. The mandate though forced me to assess other bad habits. I had a tendency to jump into the online world even before I had breakfast. That was key for me to understand why my doctor forbade me from going online.

Two months have passed since my doctor mandated me to stay offline. I realized being online all the time brought so much noise in my life. It was more than a month later when I started to feel the relief of staying offline. I was also able to correct other bad habits that being online brought.

I have kept the restrictions I imposed in December. I have kept the app access limits and I don't even hit the limits anymore. I've been able to use the time to rest and recover and do other things I've been meaning to do for a long time now.

Breaking the habit of being online isn't easy, but it brings a lot of benefits. I will probably keep the restrictions and just go online when it's really needed.
