My New Star Wars Mandalorian Crochet Kit

I have been collecting Star Wars crochet kits for a few years now since I like crocheting too. It's more challenging for me than quilting, but still fun nonetheless.

It was my Mom who taught me how to crochet. We had one book where we followed patterns and that's what I did one whole summer vacation. I didn't reach my Mom and Titay'a level where they made huge crochet blankets. I found them when we cleared my childhood home.

Anyway, I'm quite excited to try my hand making a Grogu crochet. I made a Yoda one a few years ago and I hope to make a few for our Christmas tree. Let's hope my hand and arm would be cooperative!

Gaga Over Mandalorian and Grogu Collectibles

I have been collecting Yoda figures and collectibles for many years now. It wasn't a conscious effort because my collection grew from gifts of friends all over!

The same happened with Grogu/Baby Yoda. I honestly just wanted to stick to my Yoda collection, but the same thing happened. A friend gave me a huge Grogu Funko Pop. I knew there was no turning back, haha.

I started watching new offers of collectibles after watching the movie. I only watched the trailer to keep the suspense. Most of the clips featured Miniso and movie theater special popcorn tubs. I also checked Amazon and there are a lot of Funko Pop variants, other figures, shirts , mugs and, of course, Lego.

After Miggy's gym session we headed to Glorietta and SM Makati to check out toy stores and Miniso. We were not disappointed since there was a lot. It was honestly very hard to choose, but budgetary constraints led the way, haha.

Watched Mandalorian and Grogu

We watched "Mandalorian and Grogu" today at the cinema. I was so excited since it's a Star Wars film and we haven't watched any movie in the theater for awhile now.

We watched the series through Disney+, but watching Star Wars films are better on the big screen. You can see many more elements of the film and nuances of the characters when it's a huge screen.

I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't really connected to the series, so you can enjoy it even if you didn't watch the series. We watched a recap of the series last night since it's been awhile since we watched the series. You don't actually need to do that since the storyline stands on it's own.

I have to be honest though, story-wise I think the last season would have been better as a movie. There were some things I was expecting that didn't happen. It made me feel it was a step back from the story. I still enjoyed it though since I super love Grogu.

Go watch it!

May the Fourth

Be with you!

It's Star Wars day again!

My stamina isn't back yet, but I managed to take photos of my Yoda and Grogu collection. Here it is -

I have a few new ones which I haven't put on display yet. Most recent one are the Grogu and Mandalorian mugs from Burger King. I'm so glad a friend told me about it and I managed to get it on the first day.

Hope y'all had a great Star Wars day!

Grogu's "You Haven't Fed Me Look"

Our cats are most probably overfed, but everytime we step out to check on them they give us a look like they're starving. Haha.

And here's Grogu today giving me that look when I stepped out to water the plants. He only moved when he heard his furdad step out with the container of food.

After having a quick bite, Grogu followed me in the garden and guarded me while I went around watering the plants. If he's not around, Bailey takes his place and waits for me to move to the garage. Then they all disappear and play outside, haha.

I really want imagine my life now without our cats. I'm very sensitive when I see them not their usual self or when they have a wound. Miggy is in-charge of applying wound spray, if needed, and contacting the vet. I'm just glad they've all been healthy <3

Happy Friday!

Full Time Pawrents: Mando Laura and Grogu's 2nd Birthday

Two years ago today, Brimsley made us full time Parents. Grey brought her to our home a few weeks before we went on a trip to celebrate the birthdays of Sweetie and Miggy.

We named her Brimsley based on a character from Bridgerton because she was quite irritable. Well, we thought she was male! So it was a huge surprise when she went missing and we found her with a newborn kitten. The day after she had another one.

We named the kittens Mando and Grogu because we were watching Mandalorian when they were born. As usual, we made a mistake with Mando's gender, so we added Laura to her name.

Here's Mando Laura and Grogu's first month:

We haven't been able to go on vacation since Mando Laura and Grogu were born and since then Eevee, Pikachu, Meredith, Bailey and Anakin came. We became full time Parents. We love them dearly and can't leave them alone and it would be too expensive to book them at a hotel. I guess it's God's way of telling us to just stay home for now.

They are now 2 years old

After we missed the opportunity to get Brimsley spayed, we made sure to get her spayed after she gave birth to Eevee and Pikachu. Everyone else have been spayed and neutered too to keep them healthy and avoid adding more to the brood.

It hasn't been easy and we've just been closing our eyes whenever we bring them to the vet, but they bring us so much love and they are our little angels. We pray everyday to be blessed so we can continue to take care of them.

Happy birthday Mando Laura and Grogu. Thank you Brimsley for making us into parents.

Grogu is Home!

After six long weeks at the vet, Grogu is home! His wound was deep and long, so it took a long time to heal.

He meowed like crazy from the vet and during the drive home. He quieted down once we released him in the backyard. He took tentative steps first and smelled everything. His twin, Mando Laura, watched him from behind the palm tree.

Miggy followed Grogu around to make sure he'd adjust properly. Luckily, the whole pawmily welcomed him back with open arms. He slept in his usual space. We were afraid he might run away since he's still an outdoor cat, but after a short trip outside he soon came back.

We noticed that Grogu is more affectionate now. He was exposed to more people while at the vet, so we're getting extra leg rubs from him and Anakin all day.

I'm really happy he's home now! There's still a small part of his wound that's still healing, but it's more manageable now. We'll bust out the cat condo soon!

Grogu Escaped!

The vet messaged us this morning to let us know Grogu Escaped while she was checking his wound. He ran around the clinic, but they eventually caught him. Unfortunately, his wound opened again, so they had to stitch him up again.

We were supposed to visit him yesterday, but our doctor appointment went overtime and the clinic was closed by the time we finished. We immediately visited him today.

Grogu was at the back of the cage. He started meowing when he saw us. The vet said he's been quiet for a few days now. He was probably still a bit groggy, but he pushed himself to the front of the cage to get close to us. I had him smell my fingers and he allowed me to scratch his head. He eventually quieted down.

The vet said he'd only eat at night, but he drank water and ate a little while I was talking to him. The vet was surprised that he started to eat. We should probably visit him everyday, so he'll recover faster. I'll ask the boys if we can visit him tomorrow. He has to be reassured that he's coming back to us and that he's not been abandoned.

When we got home, I had the cats smell my hand. They've been anxious also since Grogu has been missing. I keep telling them he's just recovering and will be home soon. Most affected is Pikachu since they're besties. Mando Laura, his twin, has also been looking for him.

It's best for Grogu to stay at the vet until his wound heals. He's a busybody and was jumping around and it kept affecting the wound. We hope we can bring him home by Sunday.

Grogu Update

Grogu had surgery at around 11 this morning. It was a simple surgery to close the wound. By afternoon he had fully recovered from the anesthesia and was ready to eat.

The vet will keep him for a few more days to make sure the wound heals. We won't be able to make him stay in one place and knowing Grogu, he'll also remove his cone. He's an outdoor cat and loves to roam around, so at best we make sure he's vaccinated and dewormed.

Can't wait to have him back!

Grogu is at the Vet

We discovered Grogu had a wound in his inner leg the other day. It was deep and wet. We took photos and immediately consulted with our vet to see if we needed to bring him in. The vet said the wound wasn't infected and we just needed to spray it with antiseptic. Luckily, we still had the medicine and the boys sprayed the wound twice a day.

Over the last few days, we noticed Grogu was lethargic. He also kept licking his wound. It worried me since he's an outdoor cat and he'd still go out to other places. I asked the boys to bring him to the vet. The wound was getting better, but it kept getting ripped because Grogu kept jumping from the wall. He also kept licking the wound and I was afraid it may still get infected.

The boys brought Grogu to the vet today. The vet said the wound can heal on it's own if Grogu doesn't lick it and stays put. It's impossible to keep Grogu to stay put and much less to make him wear a cone. He'd also be defenseless if he wore a cone. We can't keep him indoors since my doctors only grudgingly allowed us to keep them if they stay outside.

Anyway, for Grogu's safety and so he could heal faster we decided to let the vet close the wound. They would also be able to watch over him closely. The vet originally thought the wound was due to a fight, but upon closer inspection she said he probably cut himself somewhere in the neighborhood. She said wounds from fights are usually on the head.

Our baby will be away for a few days. We'll go and visit him to reassure him he'll come back to our home. I explained to the other cats he's away to heal and that a doctor is taking care of him for now. Please pray for Grogu's quick recovery!

More Baby Yoda!

I had a Baby Yoda overload on my birthday! Here's what I received as gifts for my birthday :)

See how it bops here:

I hope I could grow the cat grass!

I super love latch hook projects! It's now my motivation to finish a current project. Woohoo!

And Miggy built for me a Yoda figure :)

I also received a surprise Stormtrooper from Sweetie. My Yoda collection started as a gift from Hadi and the rest is history. I have a few Stormtrooper figures already, thinking whether I should collect it too?

Simple Joys

I'm still recovering from the infection and I've been feeling woozy today. I tried fixing our parol, but my body reacted immediately so I'm resting for now.

First thing I wanted to see when we got home were the kittens. They came to the side garden as soon as we parked. I got to peek at them from the barrier and they kept meowing at me. It felt like they were telling me they got worried and they were glad to see me back home. I was worried for them too since we haven't left them alone since they were born.

My gumamela plant also bloomed a beautiful flower the next day. I had been treating it since mites were taking over. I'm glady efforts paid off because they are recovering now.

Our home is currently very messy. We were in the middle of decorating for Christmas and sorting through some boxes. Fixing things will have to wait for now. Will rest for now :)
