Cat Stuff at Anko

I used to skip sections for pets at stores, but now that we have for babies I always end up buying something for them. We recently checked out Anko at Alabang Town Center since it's fairly new. It's now on the spot where National Bookstore used to be.

Anko at ATC is noticeably smaller than the Glorietta branch. The sections were evenly distributed, unlike in Glorietta which had a bigger section for houseware. Anko ATC just needs to dust their items. I had to wash my hands after visiting the shop

Anyway, back to pet items... They had a good selection and the quality and price is pretty good. I was so tempted to buy toys and new dishes for our cats. I just held back because I recently bought a bunch of dishes! Haha. Maybe I'll go back and get the automatic water dispenser.

For crafters, Anko has affordable craft materials. Miggy got a paintbrush set and I got some paint for a project. I think their stuff is good for beginners trying out new things. They don't have that many sewing materials though.

I'm happy there's an accessible Anko for us. The items they sell are very different from Daiso, Japan Home and other similar shops. Just hope they'll dust their items, haha

Makati Supermart Coffee Shop is Back!

I was so sad the last time we went to Alabang Town Center last April. We discovered that the Coffee Shop of Makati Supermart was closed for renovations. No one from the staff knew when it would open again.

Found out last weekend that it opened again on July 4. We immediately made plans to visit and get my favorite spaghetti!

After doing groceries we headed to the Coffee Shop. They were still on soft opening (as of July 8) and just had a handwritten menu of what was available. I didn't mind since what was important for me was their spaghetti. It's been my favorite since I was a child.

The shop just got a facelift with new tables and chairs. The ice cream fridge though was removed, replaced with a long bench probably for those getting takeaway.

I'm so happy they're back! I can't live without their spaghetti! It would be more perfect if Orange Julius had a stall too!

*Sorry I gobbles up the spaghetti before I remembered to take a photo!

Tried Niseko Coffee

For today's caffeine fix, we decided to try Niseko Coffee at Alabang Town Center. It was a long walk from where we ate lunch. It's nestled in a nook near the cinema, beside the entrance at the side of the church.

Anyway, we finally tried it today. I know Japanese coffee is good because whenever I'm in Tokyo I couldn't resist drinking more than my usual one cup. I wanted to see whether it would be the same.

It did not disappoint. We loved it. I had a latte, Miggy had flat white, and Sweetie got the signature coffee. Maybe next time I'll try the flat white and hopefully they'll have beans available.

Our Kiwami Japanese Food Hall Experience

We've dined at Kiwami Japanese Food Hall twice now. The first time was a few months ago when we chanced upon an available table. We visited again early this week and finding a table is now easier. The food hall combines several restaurants, Ippudo, Yabu, Yakitori Hachibei, and Hannosuke. The menu includes all the dishes from all the restos.

We tried a couple of dishes. The tastiest for me is the yakitori. We got the sampler and it was really good! The boys both like their curry and I've been going through their variety of tonkatsu. They used to offer refillable sides (like the cabbage), but they don't do that now. it's fine since the serving is more than enough. I can't imagine eating more cabbage, LOL.

Here's some delectable food photos:

We always get the bento meals since it includes soup and fruit already. We've tried the ice cream once and it's really, really good! I think next time I'll get a smaller meal since sometimes I get so full I don't have space for dessert anymore. You can always come back and take-away a cup of ice cream after strolling around the mall. We forgot though, so I think next time I'll just really get a smaller meal.

Best to go on a weekday. It's impossible to get seats on weekends. Not sure about evenings though since we usually go for lunch. BTW, it gets pretty noisy. They probably need to improve the acoustics of the hall.

"Flying Tiger", First Look

I saw the announcement a few months ago that "Flying Tiger" was opening soon at Alabang Town Centre. I was only able to visit today since the weather has been bearable already. I also insisted with the boys it was time to go out. I don't remember the last time we went to the mall.

We were just going to take a peek, but the store was set up like a maze. You have no choice but to see everything. Like IKEA, there's no shortcut to the exit. We enjoyed our first look of Flying Tiger.

If you like stationery and anek-anek, you will like the store. The store is originally from Copenhagen. Their take on decor is different from what we see from Daiso, Miniso, and Mumuso. I didn't look at where the items are made, but I saw some are made in China.

I just got a few plastic plates and cups. I was planning to buy paper plates and disposable cups, but realised reusable plates and cups are better. Next time I'll go check out the stationery section. I saw they have cute planner pads. They also have a table for "last chance to buy items". There were some interesting items. I just resisted from buying, haha.

There's a couple of branches across the metro if you want to check it out :)
