Cooked Spaghetti to Celebrate Titay's Birthday

Titay is my Mom's older sister. She's my second Mom. My Mom and Titay looked so much a like, I remember getting confused between them when I was a child, haha.

It's Titay's birthday today. I bet they're having a party in heaven right now with Titay's delicious lengua dish. I wish I askes her to teach me, but she did get to teach Miggy how to make her leche flan.

My Secret Spaghetti Sauce (Beef and Mushroom with Black Olives)

I was looking through "Recipes for My Son" and realized I never shared how I cook my beef and mushroom with black olives spaghetti recipe. I never had the chance to film it because I've been cooking more pink pasta. I also shifted to cooking tuna pasta (using the same recipe) than beef since it's just Sweetie and I who usually eats red pasta. 

Anyway, since it was Christmas I thought it would be nice to make my first spaghetti recipe. It was my seatmate, Maica, who taught me how to make it. I had to wing the measurements since she didn't give me any. I'm not ouido when it comes to cooking (that's Daddy), so it was hard at first. I eventually found the right mixture and don't really measure anymore when I cook this recipe. 

Well, those who have tried it said it's really good, so I thought it would be useful to share the recipe. It's not sweet pasta and I honestly don't know how to cook Filipino spaghetti (that's Kuya's expertise). Anyway, here's how I make my spaghetti -

The Legendary Makati Supermart Spaghetti

I have been eating this since I was 4 years old and it tastes exactly the same. Nowadays though you won't find the supermarket in Makati because it's now located in Alabang. It's my favorite spaghetti in the whole wide universe and I hope it will be available forever=)

My Favorite Spaghetti

I have been so glum the past few weeks, so I thought I'd make a post about my favorite spaghetti. The spaghetti that's been my favorite since I was a kid =)

I've always been batugan and when I was a kid my Mom would nudge me awake on Saturdays by telling me that we are going to the grocery. That would wake me up immediately and I'd soon shower and get ready to go with her -- to the Makati Supermarket. I wasn't excited because I'd get the chance to get any grocery item I wanted (my Mom would secretly put things back on the shelf when I wasn't looking), but because it meant that I'd get to eat my favorite spaghetti!

The Makati Supermarket Coffee Shop offers the best spaghetti in the whole wide world. Yes, that is my belief and I'm glad that they still offer the same until now, except that the Makati Supermarket Coffee Shop is now located at Alabang. And I insist on dining there everytime we are in the area.

Finally got the chance to have my favorite spaghetti last Friday after we brought Miguel to the prom venue. The spaghetti tastes the same after all these years.

Dad's Miracle Spaghetti

I tell you, the only thing that will really make me 100% well is my Dad's spaghetti! So yesterday after a trip to the clinic for some tests I asked my Mom if we could drop by the supermarket to buy some tissue. Of course, bring me to the supermarket and I'm definitely not just going to buy tissue (even though I felt I was just crawling around in a daze). We ended up buying ingredients for spaghetti.

By late afternoon Aling Leoning woke me up and asked if I wanted to eat some spaghetti. I never say no to spaghetti and I got served a huge heap. I still can't imagine how I managed to finish it (serving is probably equivalent to 4 Jolly spags!). 

I lost so much weight anyway, so that's my excuse. LOL. Well, here's my spaghetti recipe in case you get hungry.

Oh do expect me to just ramble on the next few days, I'm still recuperating and haven't been able to go out. Keep warm guys, seems like there's a lot of people getting sick lately. Rest!
