Throwback Thursday: A Scary Hospital Story

I've been warded in the ICU a couple of times now. The thing about being in ICU that makes me anxious is when a Code Blue is called. It is very disconcerting since the call is announced over the PA system. The announcement will also wake you up if you're asleep. If you're a patient, you'd also see blue flashing lights.

The scary incident though did not happen in ICU. I was in a regular room. I woke up suddenly when a code blue was called. It was a few floors down. I found out because part of the announcement included the room number. I prayed for the patient and tried to calm down. A few minutes later things quieted down and I tried to sleep again.

I suddenly felt a presence in my room. I don't know, but I felt it was the patient that coded. She was confused and was lost. I remembered what Olive told me about why spirits come to you. They recognize that you can help them. She said don't get scared, just pray and talk to them to move on.

I immediately knew that the patient probably did not know she had passed. So I prayed and told her to follow the light. I added that she shouldn't worry because everything will be alright. I just kept repeating the prayer and then eventually the heavy presence disappeared.

I think I posted about this on FB back in 2021. One of my titas scolded me for entertaining the spirit. I told her I just prayed and hoped she'd leave immediately. I was honestly super scared, good thing Olive taught me what to do. For any situation, the best thing to do is pray :)

Creepy Night

It's about 12'C here in Baguio tonight and we just had a very creepy experience. Caught it on video but unfortunately uploading is quite difficult right now. Hotel wifi and my 3G connection is just not cooperating.

We got back to the hotel at around 10:30 in the evening after a whole day of activities outside. We capped our day with an impromptu pizza/housewarming/celebratory dinner at Aris' new home. We had to go through Teachers Camp from his house. As we were passing through Teachers Camp Vince shared some creepy stories with us. Good thing the ride was short since the hairs at the back of my neck were all standing already (might also be because of the really cold weather).

As we got back to our room I was chatting with Philip in the kitchen area when Sweetie just suddenly said loudly from our bedroom, "Oh my God!" When he came out of the room he had a shocked face that made me and Philip feel a bit anxious. When I asked him what was the matter he just said that there was something outside our window that he didn't expect to see. He further explained that it was never a habit of his to look out from our hotel window at night but just had to check since he's been so busy and never had time to check our surroundings.

So Philip and I slowly walked to the bedroom to check. The feeling was quite dreadful since I've never really seen Sweetie that anxious. We peeked out through the curtains and had the fright of our lives...

To be continued tomorrow...

Boo! Awooo! Arf! Arf! Arf!

It is hallows eve once again and I am scared to move away from my PC and go to my room to rest. Why? Because I think I can see dead people again tonight. The hairs at the back of my neck are prickling with awareness. I feel like someone's looking in from the window. I am feeling skirmish about my dog's movements outside my window. I can also hear cats hissing and running around in the backyard. Oh boy, I'm sticking it out here in my study room with Miguel for the meantime.

My imagination is running wild that's what it is.

I couldn't help but be scared because sometimes I do see and feel things. Stuff that are unexplainable, unbelievable, makatindig balahibo but logic always prevails except on halloween. I am usually sick during halloween and I get more sick whenever I am asked to go to the cemetery. Don't ask me why, maybe it's psychological or something, but it happens every year.

So, I'm stuck here at home. I would've gone out with some of my neighbors for some catching up, but they're still stuck at work and have re-scheduled. Oh well, I guess I'll do some online chores and probably catch up with some friends (I'm sick and can't move around that much) and post in Tales from the Moonless Sky. Go on... scare yourself silly and visit my ghost story blog (which I do with Anne and Harry).

How I miss the Halloween parties I used to host here at home, well maybe next year -

Happy Halloween!

Photo by me, hehe, that was back in Halloween 2004.
