Remember the Nuvali Koi Fish?

When Nuvali was fairly new, I remember there was a pond full of Koi fish. They would converge near you when you give them somewhere to eat.

I always had fun watching Koi fish. Their color was so bright and it was interesting to watch how a gazillion Koi fish interacted with each other.

I wonder if they're still around?

Bye Bye Pablo

We were surprised to find Pablo the Danio at the bottom of the tank last night. We don't know what happened, but being the smallest we think it was attacked by one of the bigger Danio fish.

Sigh :(

The Guppies are Missing!

Miggy and I cleaned the tank and changed half the water of the aquarius last Monday. We didn't notice anything amiss except for one guppy that was at the bottom of the tank. We struggled a bit since we were still learning how to use the hose to suck out water. We were careful not to disturb the fish.

Sweetie was hurrying out earlier, so he asked me to feed the fish. I gave them a pinch of food, said hello and immediately moved to the kitchen to make coffee. I didn't notice anything unusual, except that the tank was dirty again.

After watering the plants, Sweetie visited the aquarium to say hello to the fish. When he came down he said the dead guppy wasn't there and there were no guppies in the tank. He checked the CCTV and confirmed there were no guppies left.

Miggy's gift, to remember Donatello

Oh boy, we didn't know that Danio fish could attack guppies to declare dominance. We checked more clips and saw the zebra Danio (aka Josh Cullen) running after the guppies. Donatello's friends are all gone huhu.

Poor guppies. Had we known that Danio fish can eat them we would have put them in a separate tank. Oh well. I surprisingly found old photos of my pet Oscar the Oscar. He was a carnivorous fish that I had for a few years. He lived in a huge tank which I think is still there at my childhood home.
